Christopher COLUMBUS!

Many of us have heard the reference from the bible that we are His "vessels". When we read further in the bible this vessel is talking about a water pot that will hold in water if it is not broken. However, the word vessel also can refer to a ship. Today is the day that many in the United States learn about Christopher Columbus. They learn that he was determined to find a new land of plenty so that he would please his queen with it's riches. Well, our King is the same way. He wants us to go out there and discover uncharted territories and make claims for His Kingdom. What uncharted territory is out there? Look into the hearts of the hurting around you. People who have never experienced the love of God. People who need to rediscover the riches they have within themselves. Peter and John went to pray, they met a lame man on the way, he asked for alms and held out his palms... and Peter said this, "silver and gold have I none but such as I have give I be, in the name of Jesus Christ, rise up and walk". We might not be rich, but that is not what God is looking for. He is not like the Queen who sought rich earthly things from Christopher Columbus. He wants us to go out and use the gift that He has given us. He gave us a vessel and we need to use our vessels to go after those who do not know Him. They are the treasure of the Kingdom of God. So are you ready to go hunt some treasure? God has given you a mission. Set your sail and enjoy the journey.

Mark 16:15

And then He told them, "Go into all the world and preach the Good News to everyone.
