Weapons and Warfare

My grandmother gave me a bunch of books while I was down in North Carolina because she knows I love to read. I now own the Left Behind books as well as this other series. The series starts with a book called This Present Darkness. In the first chapter the author uses vast imagery to describe the evil around this small town and this shadow that keeps creeping closer and trying to get into this little white church. However, no matter how many times the darkness tries to strike forward... it is tossed back. Two angels are protecting the church, but not because it's a building... because there is something special happening inside. A young man was kneeling and praying. He was crying out to God for the people. In a time when we are surrounded by darkness all around us we often forget that one of our strongest weapons is prayer. Frank E. Peretti reminds his readers that one person no matter how small their faith "can" make a difference just by simple prayer. It is time we start to take a stand for the people around us and get on our knees to pray. You don't "need" to pray in a church you can do it right in your room. However, prayer is a powerful thing... it helps fight off the darkness.

Ephesians 6:2 AMP
12For we are not wrestling with flesh and blood [contending only with physical opponents], but against the despotisms, against the powers, against [the master spirits who are] the world rulers of this present darkness, against the spirit forces of wickedness in the heavenly (supernatural) sphere.
